DESERTS….

Long walks in isolation… Unwelcomed solitude….I try hard to listen to the stillness.. Prayers seem not listened to…

Is this you as well?

I know He is there… Do I have a purpose anymore? Am I being disciplined for past sins? I know I am forgiven, but am I done being punished? Were my sins so great? Has Jesus washed my sins white as snow? Is my faith being challenged?

We wonder at times, don’t we?

 

PILGRIMAGE

“If the Lord had not been on our side when men attacked us, when their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive: the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away..” Psalm 124:2-5

In church today our pastor, as usual gave a great sermon. Most of it was based around these verses. Walking away from the sanctuary area I took some realization away with me. Our lives are in a sense, a Pilgrimage… As Christians it is our journey to a holy place. And, during our travels, we must realize as well that without the Lord on our side, all is lost. He walks beside us, and the path He set before us, we have to accept that we are never alone. The chasm that lay between us and God is the one we created, not Him.
